Day 1

1 PM – 2 PM – Con Going 101

Welcome to the world of conventions. There’s a lot to see and a lot to do, and with this panel’s helpful tips, hints, and experience, they’ll pass on some useful information for you. Everyone ranging from first time con goers to even some veterans can benefit from it.

2:30PM – 3:30 PM – Positivity through Cosplay

An informational and discussion panel about the importance of positivity and inclusivity in the cosplay community as well as what it means to cosplay.

4 PM – 5 PM – Make Alien Spaceships!

Make aliens for Live Action Space Invaders: We’re going to cut up some sheets of foamcore and draw UFOs on them to play with later. If you have crayons or markers, bring them!

5 PM – 6 PM – Live Action Space Invaders!

Live Action Space Invaders: Re-create the first huge video game success in an “unplugged” version, We need to fill every seat in as many rows as we can. We’ll pass the spaceships down the line, making Space Invaders sound effect noises while the defender tries to shoot them down.

7 PM – 8 PM – Brianna Wu Q&A

Come meet Brianna Wu, Head of Development at Giant Spacekat, programmer, blogger, software engineer, and a slew of other amazing things! See what she is up to today, and what might be coming in the future!

Day 2

10:30 AM – 11:30 PM – Creating Children’s (and Family) Cosplay

Presenting children’s cosplay. The ups and downs of creating a costume for an ever growing child. Use of materials, comfort of costume, time restraints and posing for photos. Talk about family cosplay and building confidence in children thru cosplaying.

12PM – 1 PM – Choose Your Character

Tech feminist Brianna Wu has been a powerful voice for women in the game industry. Since being targeted by Gamergate, a misogynistic hate movement, she’s been the target of unprecedented death threats, rape threats and harassment. In this powerful talk, she discusses the origins of her studio Giant Spacekat, their vision for games, and how she stays true to what she believes.

2 PM – 3 PM – Backup Ribbon Project

Anti-harassment has become a hot topic within the geek community over the last several years. Whether it is anti-harassment policies or grassroots awareness (such as Cosplay is Not Consent), more and more geeks are looking for ways to make the geek community a better place to everyone. Come join us as we discuss ways in which we can all just be a little more excellent to each other.

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM – Nix Hydra Presents: Egg!

Nix Hydra, the amazing company that brought you the beloved Egg Baby, are here to talk about their project: Egg! How did they make it? How does their studio work? Please join us and find out!

5 PM – 6 PM – All Japan Tours

Have you ever wanted to travel to Japan, but don’t know if you should got through a tour company or not? Our  panel  will tell you the difference between planning your own travels or going through a company.

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM – Meet the Looneys

Come hang out with Andrew Looney, the created of Fluxx! This informal session will provide an opportunity to meet and hang out with Andy and his wife Kristin, the husband and wife team that founded . Come join in on this informal discussion and learn about the company, their games, and their philosophies. Find out how they got started, their current plans, and their long-term dreams. Bring your questions!

8 PM – 9 PM – Women in the Gaming Industry

Amanda Winn-Lee, voice of Crimson 09 in Revolution 60, joins Brianna Wu, co-founder of tech company Giant Spacekat, to discuss women in the gaming industry.

9:30 PM – 10:30 PM – Muffins

Remember those old text adventure games from the 80s? Muffins is a game experience based on those, but for a large group of people. Andy plays the part of the computer, while the crowd collectively becomes the player, each taking turns giving a simple command to the “computer”. Explore the secret underground headquarters of the McFeazles Muffin Company!

Day 3

10 AM – 11 AM – Parenting and Gaming

Are you a Parent? Are you also a Gamer? Is your child a gamer? Please come tell us your stories! We want to hear about the funny, smelly, interesting things that have happened while gaming as a parent. (We are all inclusive, so stories of your fur-babies are welcome too!)

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Starting a Game Company

Two successful entrepreneurs, Briana Wu (co-founder of Giant Spacekat, a video game publisher), and Kristin Looney (co-founder of Looney Labs, a tabletop game publisher) will compare notes on how they started and now run their game businesses. Come ask them questions and hear their stories!

1 PM – 2:30 PM – League of Legends Cosplay Community

A discussion on the League of Legends Cosplay community. League of Legends, the most popular video game on Earth, is enjoyed by millions of players around the world each day. The game, started by Riot Games in 2009, has a strong and growing artistic community, including animators, video makers and cosplayers. The League of Legends Cosplay Community seeks to emulate the spirit of the Summoner’s Code, providing a safe and encouraging atmosphere for cosplayers of all ages, shapes, sizes, colors and skill levels to enjoy and create their own versions of the numerous League champions. A short presentation will be followed by a lengthy Q&A session discussing the various aspects of League life, from the game itself to the artistic community. Audience participation is encouraged!
